Organizing your wardrobe is not just a matter of aesthetics, but the key to saving time, reducing stress, and consuming clothes more consciously. Many people face the problem of a closet that is overflowing, but “nothing to wear.” The reason is the lack of a system. The first step to organizing is decluttering, that is, getting rid of things you don’t wear. Start by completely laying out the contents of your closet on the bed or floor. Inspect each item: if you haven’t worn it for more than a year, it doesn’t fit, or it makes you uncomfortable, it’s time to get rid of it. Donate, give away, or sell it.

After decluttering, it’s important to classify your clothes. Divide items into categories: outerwear, T-shirts, pants, dresses, underwear, accessories. Within categories, you can additionally sort by color or season. This will make it easier to find and visually organize the space. For example, all shirts hang together, from light to dark. This approach is called “rainbow closet” and helps to quickly put together an outfit.

For outerwear and shirts, use the same hangers – wooden or non-slip plastic ones are best. Not only does this look neat, but it also prevents collars from warping. Pants and skirts can be hung using clip hangers or folded on shelves. If space is limited, consider vertical storage – use closet door organizers for small items like scarves, belts or straps.
