Organizing a child’s room is not only an aesthetic task, but also a psychological one. Order helps a child feel calmer, develops independence and responsibility. Start by zoning the space: allocate areas for sleeping, playing, studying and storage. Even in a small room, this is possible with the help of furniture and carpets.

Furniture should be at the child’s height. Shelves, drawers, hangers – at the level of his hands. This will allow him to independently take out and put away things. Use open shelves with baskets – this makes it easier to see the contents. Label the baskets with pictures or words if the child reads.

Toys are the main source of chaos. Sort them by type: cars, dolls, construction sets, books. Store in transparent containers or boxes with handles. Do not keep everything – regularly put away what has not been played with for more than a year. Give away, sell or hide some of the toys, rotating them once a month – this creates “novelty”.

Clothes – like adults, should be accessible. Use low chests of drawers, hangers with bright hooks. Fold things so that the child can see everything – the “envelope” method or vertical storage. Shoes – in boxes with a photo on the lid.

Workplace – important for schoolchildren. Organize a comfortable writing place with good lighting, pull-out drawers for office supplies. Use a board for schedules, reminders, drawings. Let the child participate in the design – this will increase motivation.
